How Outsourced Cleaning Services Can Make Your Business Grow

How Outsourced Cleaning Services Can Make Your Business Grow

If you are running a small or medium size company or restaurant, you would probably be relying on some staff or employee for cleaning services that is even outside their job description. Yes, it’s expensive to hire another one, much more a team, for a task that is so simple, necessary, but most of the time, overlooked. A lot of boss or business owners thinks that a regular cleaner is non-revenue generating position. But honestly, you wouldn’t hire an electrician to fix a plumbing problem right? Or expect a messenger to clean your office like what hotel housekeepers do. To get the best results out of office cleaning or restaurant cleaning is outsourcing the cleaning service team on a weekly, bi-monthly or monthly basis. Here’s why:

Need something cleaned?

Reduce overhead costs

Outsourced cleaning services can provide you a detailed general cleaning at reasonable costs. It can be a one time deep cleaning followed by weekly or bi-monthly maintenance, or it could be a 2-3 times a week staff appointment to keep your place in shape. No other upkeep necessary like paying for benefits, allowances, looking for places to store cleaning materials, no additional training fees. Let’s look at this picture: when you hire a staff to clean your office on a daily basis, he or she is paid at least the minimum wage, plus company/mandatory benefits. You would also need to purchase cleaning equipment and consumables like disinfectant, all purpose cleaners, spray bottles and the like. Let’s say you are paying P 10,000 for an employee to do the cleaning, add in the cost of a vacuum ( at least P 6,000), and other materials (roughly P 2,000 to begin with). That is at least P 18,000 in total for the first month and P 12,000 for the succeeding months. Now, let us say your office is around 100 square meters. At an average, a professional cleaning service company would charge P 8,000 for a one time general cleaning of your office, which would already include 2 staff and all the cleaning materials needed. Right at that point you can already see the savings! If you would want a weekly or a bi-monthly, that is also negotiable.

Reliability and Quality Professional Cleaning Services

Because you know that you are hiring people who are in the business of cleaning, trained to make your office or restaurant feel like brand new again, you know you are putting your money into good use. No matter how efficient or knowledgeable your staff are with a vacuum or broom, a trained professional cleaning service crew will do a better job. When you schedule a cleaning appointment with a cleaning service company, you don’t need to worry about a cleaning staff not reporting for work on those days. You will always have the peace of mind that someone will be there to clean your office when you need it. No “If’s” and no “buts”.

Refocus your attention on thing that generate revenue

Maintaining a clean and sanitized office or restaurant is important for business, but it is simply not the main selling proposition of a business, and they don’t directly generate revenue, unless you are a cleaning service company yourself. Maintenance functions can easily and cost efficiently be delegated to an outsourced cleaning service company so you and the company could focus on core competencies.   Outsourcing your office or restaurant cleaning is more affordable than you think. The Toilet and Bath Cleaning Challenge

The Toilet and Bath Cleaning Challenge

Who loves cleaning toilets and bath? Yay? Nay? Yes, indeed only a few thoroughly love cleaning their bathrooms and usually because they are the ones exclusively using it. Can you imagine yourself cleaning a toilet bowl used by more than 3 individuals in the house? Fairly okay maybe, but imagine cleaning a bathroom that was not cleaned for more than a month, filled with grime on the tiles, a yellowish tint line inside the toilet bowl, yellowish brown stains around the sink, and other filthy things that need I say more?

Here at CMDA Cleaning Service headquarters, we have tried and tested 4 leading commercial liquid toilet cleaners in the Philippines for our clients who constantly ask how to maintain their oval office (toilet). We have reviewed them based on active ingredients and efficiency on actual use and we have listed them here from the least effective to the most effective. This way, cleaning your bathroom won’t always be a struggle. But to make things clear, we do not use these products in our cleaning services because we have industry grade cleaning solutions and disinfectant that we source from our local supplier. The ingredients though, are close or similar to these.

Toilet Duck - Mr Muscle Toilet cleaners

Toilet Duck – Duck Power bottle (Right) and Mr. Muscle Triple Action Bathroom Cleaner (Left)

#4 Toilet Duck – Duck Power

Active Ingredient(s): Lactic Acid and Alcohols Good for: Toilet bowls only. As its name implies, it is only good for the toilet bowl, but not the whole bathroom (walls, tiles, etc ). It can remove water stains inside the bowl and leave a good fragrance after. How to use it: squeeze generous amount around the toilet bowl rim, let it drip and leave the bowl for at least 30 minutes. Scrub and flush after. Downside: Uneconomical. It’s not an all-in-one toilet and bathroom cleaner. You will still need to find another better liquid bathroom/toilet cleaner.

#3 Domex Toilet Cleaner

STAIN, MOLDS OR GROUT PROBLEMS?

There are instances that, despite spraying or soaking your bathroom tiles with gallons of toilet and bathroom cleaners, some stains can’t seem to be removed. Your inner OC (Obsessive Compulsiveness) is already screaming and want to rain fire on that pesky spot. Calm yourself for a minute and see if it is just a stain or mold, or if you need to re-grout your tiles. Stain and molds can be easily removed using bathroom cleaning solutions, the worst would be using Hydrochloric acid (Muriatic Acid). If the grout (the white cement in between your tiles that hold them together) has been washed, scrubbed or eroded away due to persistent cleaning or regular us of the bathroom, you will need to re-grout them already.

What is re-grouting?

Re-grouting is the process of applying grout in between the tiles to strengthen and secure the tiles and make the bathroom tiles looking new. You can have a professional do it or you can buy a re-grouting powder or re-grouting compound to fix it. No matter how hard you scrub, if the grout is already eroded, it will never be as pearly white as it used to be. There are also re-grouting mixtures that are water proof and mold resistant which can help you maintain the cleanliness of your bathroom. We hope you learned something new about bathroom cleaning, and if you have Toilet and bathroom cleaning stories or questions, drop us a message on Facebook or Google Plus.

Condominium Cleaning and Maintenance

Condominium Cleaning and Maintenance

condo cleaning serviceAre you living in a 3 bedroom unit, a loft, or a “shoebox” studio type condominium unit? No matter what the size, condo cleaning and maintenance is as tricky as it sound, despite cleaning it a dozen times a day, there still seem to be dusts and dirt somewhere around your place. Your helper (if you have one) may do her job, but admittedly, they could only clean as much as they can without taking time doing other chores (ie. cooking, laundry, etc).

Condominium Conundrum

The simplest solution to cleaning your condominium is to hire a one time professional cleaning service crew to disinfect and sanitize your place from top to bottom in a single day, and then maintain it. As soon as spring cleaning is done, you can apply measures to keep the dirt from coming back, add a cleaning time 3 times a week in your schedule and setup a twice a month, monthly or quarterly cleaning appointment with the cleaning service professionals. But if you are looking into doing the cleaning yourself, here are some suggestions on how to do it:

bathSTART BY SOAKING

The two dirtiest places in a condominium unit is the bathroom and the balcony. Before anything else, water the walls and floor of your bathroom and balcony, and then spray generous amount of undiluted liquid bathroom cleaner or Grime destroyer. This will make cleaning them easier. Pour some toilet bowl cleaner in your toilet bowl and wash basin (ceramic) to loosen the grime in it.

DE-DUST FROM THE TOP

Have tried sweeping the floor and then after a few minutes there’s dust again? After moving around cleaning up the dirt, air has circulated inside your house, pushing dusts from cabinet tops, refrigerators and cupboards. To save time and energy, dust all vertical spaces of your unit, let it fall on the floor, so you can just have one full sweep later on. Don’t forget the cobwebs on your ceiling and the space underneath your hanging cabinets.

CLEANEST TO DIRTIEST

Now that you’re done with the tops, you can start sweeping (or vacuuming) the floor. Start where there’s the least dirt towards the dirtiest to avoid spreading more dirt across the room. Contain the dirt as soon as possible (dustpan or straight to a garbage bag). Make sure to include the spaces under and behind your refrigerator.

SCRUBBING

After soaking the balcony and the bathroom for an hour or two, you can re-apply a few drops of bathroom cleaner and start scrubbing the grime. It should fall off easily now since the soak, and even a jet stream of water could do the trick. If you see dark patches in between the bathroom tiles, try placing some baking soda and vinegar and start scrubbing. If the dark patches won’t budge, it means it is time to re-grout. You can’t do anything about it at this point until you have it re-grouted.

MAINTENANCE

Now that your place is clean, here are a few things you can do in maintaining it that way. Here are a few suggestions:

  • sweep/vacuum the floor every other day
  • install a wide rubber stopper at the bottom of the door to prevent dust from the hallways (and from your neighbor) from getting into your condo unit. It doubles as sound proofing as well.
  • you can opt to keep the balcony doors and windows closed or place an air purifier near them to filter the dust coming in.
  • Keep your things organized and bring clutter to a minimum so they don’t accumulate dirt.

Now that your city home is clean and in top shape, don’t forget to schedule your deep cleaning at least twice a month to retain that fresh feel. Consult with a professional when it is best to re-grout your tiles, repaint your walls, or vacuum your carpet, beds and sofas.

Cleaning Tips and Materials for the Pinoy Home

Cleaning Tips and Materials for the Pinoy Home

Whether we clean our own home or someone else do it for us, there are always some instances that you still do a “Google search” to get help make that certain spot squeaky clean. However, most of the results in Google come up coming from American, Canadian or British authors, suggesting some materials that are not available day by day in a typical Filipino household.   Philippines could possibly be the most “western country” in Southeast Asia, but there are products that are not simply available here. Coffee grounds for smell? You use 3-in-1 or get your kapeng barako (or cappuccino) in the local coffee shop. Lemons? Expensive. There are also cleaning brands not available locally and let’s not even start by cleaning toilet bowls and shower using organic materials. If you have the money and want to do the cleaning yourself, you can try buying “cleaning reagents” from the grocery or try that UK product section in an SM supermarket. But if you have the money but doesn’t want to get down and dirty, you can always give us a call.

Need something cleaned?

vinegarVinegar (Sukang puti)

This is like the McGyver of cleaning and Bonnie and Clyde when partnered with baking soda. Just take note that you will need a gallon of it, not just a bottle of Datu Puti from Aling Nena’s store on the corner. Place some viniger in a pail, dump in your toothbrush, stainless cooking utensils, shower and bidet heads, and your stainless spoon and forks. Leave it for an hour and do a little brushing, then they are all clean! Place some in a spray bottle and spray on walls to remove molds and mildews, spray on faucets with hard water stains, leave for a few minutes, and then rinse and you got all of them almost good as new.

baking-sodaBaking Soda

Like vinegar, this can make cleaning wonders, but there’s a secret to make it more effective – using it with warm water (not lukewarm). Mix 1 part water and 1 part baking soda and you can remove stove grimes and stains, grill grimes, oven stains and all sorts of grimes. Add vinegar (slowly to avoid making a strong reaction) and place some on tile groutes, refrigerator stains, grimy or oily cabinet doors, and the bottom part of cooking utensils. Leave it for an hour and then scrub a little. It’s powder form is a great deodorizer as well.

colaCoke

Probably one of the few cleaning solutions that you can actually drink (but of course in moderation); dump a litter of coke (or pepsi, it doesn’t matter) in your water stained toilet bowl and leave it for 1 hour before flushing. You can also do the same with the bathroom tiles if you have confirmed that the stains are from hard water. Rinse after flushing and you will have a toilet bowl as good as new. It is also effective in wash basins (lababo) – plug the drain using the usual rubber or metal plugs, fill the wash basin with coke, leave it for an hour and then drain and rinse.

After a day’s cleaning using these items, you might ask “Well, our home looks clean but it smells like vinegar or paksiw”. Once the vinegar dries out, its odor will dissipate as well. The most important thing about using these day to day items is having a lot of patience. These too are chemicals, but not as harsh and harmful as detergents or bleach, and they need time in order be very effective. If you are still having problems with hard to clean areas in your home, or simply doesn’t have the time, contact our trusted, reliable and professional cleaning service and get your home clean today.
